I must again compliment you on your new book. I believe we can say that it is simply "EXCELLENT". I especially love the history part where you have captured the past and brought it to the now. Its illustrations are divine and every word of each story is explained with such heartfelt warmth. Congratulations on an excellent read.
Jan Lord-Giraldi, Georgetown Rug Hooking Guild Social Convener
I have just finished reading every word of your book. It was just great. I loved the stories intertwined with the hooking. I loved the details of how to achieve different effects. I know I will read it again and again! Just love the descriptions of your home - it sounds lovely and interesting. I see what you mean about the stair step mats. Lovely little vignettes of life.

Ms. Close was able to keep my attention with the underlying historical and technical backgrounds foundational to each piece. It is always exciting to see a creative mind at work – understanding the reasons why designs have significance to an artist and listening in to the thought process needed to make a visually and structurally strong rug.
Gene Shepherd, Californian rug maker
I can easily say that it is by far the best rug making book that I have ever seen.
Glenys Fishburn, a member of the Durham Matters rug-making group
I just received my copy of your book this morning – ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC – looking through the pages I just get the warmest feeling – so many of these things you have told me before – I loved the pictures of Reeth – I just wish that I was there right now sharing a cup of tea with you.
Barbara Bonds, rug maker from Phoenix, Arizona
The book is absolutely wonderful. I am so proud of you both. I cannot thank you enough for inviting me to be a part of this wonderful publication. Lesley did a great job of translating Heather's heart into words and the way you both were able to then translate this all into the rugs is beyond good.
Barb Carroll, proprietor of Woolley Fox rug school
I picked up your book from Borders on Sunday. It is great! I like the format so much, with the lesson with each chapter! I love the pictures that were taken across the hooking, for example the pigeons and the garden. That was a neat way to photograph it to show the various levels of the loops. I'm looking forward to relishing each chapter of your book.
Sarah Province, whose rugs have featured in many books
The book is just wonderful and everyone was so excited to see it. You have done a fabulous job and you should be so proud. This is a best seller.
Ingrid Hieronimus, of the Ragg Tyme School of Rug Hooking in Ontario
It's a treasure, not just for the coffee table but as a working compendium and a good read.
